MIDTERM PORFOLIO 10:03 PM

This is my very first exercise in photoshop. Using 4 pictures: 1 line drawing, 1 color photo, 1 black & white photo (the sky and birds), and 1 graphic from a magazine (the candy). I adjusted bright/contrast, hue/ saturation, and color balance. Also, I painted the trees using the brush tool. I made my candy become the sun.

It is the Mood created in Photoshop using 5 photos. It is supposed to say about how music can brighten your soul. I tried to make the people around me become rocks, but I found out that I could not use the effect if I cut the people out of the photo. So I decided to make them look like sad and dark.

This is one of my Illustrator work. It was really hard for me to draw it because it was the time I drew real object. It took me for a while to figure out which part I should draw first. The sunglasses look really sharp at first. Now I change the opacity and adjust the feather effect. As the result, it looks better.

Ale', a Future Vehicle Technology's newest prototype, is a fuel vapor car. It took me about 35-40 hours to work on it. I used gradient mesh 97% of my car. I tried to use just gradient and layers first, but it was like a cartoon car. Therefore, I made up my mind to denote most of my time in OP just to make it look close to the real car as much as I can. After doing the car project, whenever I passed by a parking lot or walked down the road, all I see is just shadows, shapes, points, and colors on every single car.

I also like the other exercises that we have to do for Illustrator such as the eagle symbol or the Japanese prints. However, I still chose the sunglasses and the car because I work really hard on them. I think I improved a lot on how to use pen tool. Remember the bulldog logo. It was so painful. I have never in my life used this software before. I did not know how to use the pen tool as a vector path and stroke. So, I made thousands points on the bulldog and spent 3-4 hours to do it. Now looking at it gives me a chill, it was supposed to take only 30 minutes. Horrible!!!

Last but not least, here is my Indesign layout that I posted before ( rebuild to look close as much as possible to the original one)
